Bespoke Restoration Project

This desk once belonged to my mother-in-law.
Before it was given a second life, the desk looks like this.
Time had clearly left its marks — worn surfaces, faded finishes, signs of long use.
Yet beneath the old synthetic leather cover, the solid wood structure remained in remarkably good condition.
Rather than replacing it, I chose to restore it.
The process began with carefully removing the old surface, sanding and refinishing the wood, and preparing it to be used again.
The desktop was then finished with real cowhide leather, selected for its durability, texture, and ability to age beautifully over time.
This project was not about making something look new.
It was about preserving history while improving function — respecting what existed, and allowing it to continue its story.
Bespoke Furniture Restoration with Leather
This desk restoration reflects the same philosophy that guides all my work:
-
Slow, intentional craftsmanship
-
Natural materials chosen for longevity
-
Attention to structure, not just appearance
Working with leather is not limited to small goods. When applied thoughtfully, it can elevate furniture, objects, and everyday tools into something deeply personal and lasting.

A Bespoke Project, Not a Product
This desk was a one-of-a-kind restoration project and is not offered as a retail product.
However, it represents the kind of bespoke leather work I enjoy most — projects that combine material knowledge, function, and emotional value.
Alongside leather accessories such as card holders, eyewear cases, and notebooks, I also take on custom leather projectsthat require a more tailored approach.
If you’re curious to see how leather can be shaped, restored, or reimagined in different forms, you’re welcome to explore more of my work throughout the site.
