I'm Seohyun Choi, the Korean crafter behind Atelier Sonya Choi.
In 2019, while living in Seoul, I wanted to make something small: an AirPods case. I really loved working with leather and that hobby turned into an obsession by opening my own leather workshop in Seoul in 2021. In 2023, I moved to Switzerland to start a family. The change of place brought new challenges, but also new perspectives that enrich my craft today.
The minimalist, metropolitan mindset from Korea, and the precision, beauty of Alpine landscape inspire me.
I hope that one day, when a grandchild opens a family storage box, they’ll find our leather piece inside—still sound, still beautiful—and smile at the life it has seen.
